Regrout or remodel?
A tired shower usually has a grout problem, not a tile problem. Grout is the weak point. It cracks, stains and holds onto soap scum and mildew while the tile around it stays fine. Replacing the grout and sealing it makes the whole shower look new, for far less than tearing it out.
Regrouting isn’t the answer for every shower. If tiles are loose, sound hollow when you tap them, or water has gotten into the wall behind them, the problem is underneath, and new grout won’t fix it. Mike checks for this at the estimate and tells you straight.

Shower questions
Is regrouting worth it, or should I remodel?
If the tile is solid and you like it, regrouting is usually the better value. You keep the tile, skip the demolition, and the shower looks new again. If tiles are loose or there’s water damage behind the wall, a remodel may be the right call, and Mike will tell you.
Will the mold come back?
Mildew can return in any shower, because showers stay damp. New, sealed grout gives it far less to hold onto and is much easier to keep clean. Running the bathroom fan and squeegeeing the walls after showers helps more than any product.
Can you match my grout color?
Yes. Mike can match your current grout as closely as possible, or switch to a new color if you’d like a change.
How long does a shower regrout take?
Most showers are done in one day.
When can I use my shower again?
New grout needs about three days to cure, so plan on using another shower for three days after the job.
