Meet Mike McMahon
Mike McMahon has been restoring tile, grout and natural stone since 1998. He started out on his own, then built a grout restoration company in Phoenix into a franchise before selling it in 2000.
In 2001 he started ICS in the Sacramento area and earned his California tile contractor’s license the same year. Today he works in homes across Auburn, Lincoln, Roseville and the rest of Placer County.
Why Mike restores instead of replacing
Decades in the trade taught Mike something most homeowners never hear: tired tile rarely needs replacing. The right cleaning, grout color, sealer or diamond polish can bring back a shower, a floor, a countertop or a travertine hallway for a fraction of what a remodel costs. When something really does need replacing, he says so.
What ICS stands for
ICS is short for Innovative Chemical Solutions. The name is the point. Every surface reacts differently. Marble and travertine etch under acid, grout soaks up whatever is spilled on it, and a sealer that works on porcelain is wrong for stone. Knowing which cleaner, stain and sealer each surface needs is the core of the job.
One person, start to finish
When you call ICS, you talk to Mike. He gives the estimate, does the work and puts on the final seal. There’s no crew and no one you haven’t met. He covers nearby floors and fixtures before he starts, and cleans up before he leaves.
